The Gotham Girls Football Club (GGFC) is an elite training and competition program for the most talented and committed girl soccer players (ages 9 to 16 years old) in the Metropolitan area.
GGFC sponsors will be featured alongside our positive, athletic, hip and smart image. Enjoy the halo effect of partnering with the first all-female NYC youth soccer club. Enthusiastic families will support Gotham Girls and become advocates for the club and their sponsors. News of this initiative has already begun spreading rapidly—all team rosters were full within weeks of our launch—and our sponsors will benefit by being associated with such a positive experience for girls.
GGFC will operate a well maintained website with a wealth of up-to-date information, including upcoming events, news, schedules, scores, camps, streaming video, merchandise, training tips, plus links to valuable information on other sites. The Gotham Girls’ site will be unique in that it will not only be geared to parents and coaches, but will also be a community for players to get information and share their stories. GGFC sponsors (depending on the level) will be featured on our site in various ways. Some of our partners can choose to sponsor specific aspects of the site. For example, "Training Tips" brought to you by XYZ Sponsor or "Play of the Week" brought to you by XYZ Sponsor. Additionally, monthly e-newsletters will go out to our shared database of GGFC families and DUSC families (Downtown United Soccer Club, our “brother” organization, which runs a boys’ travel soccer program and both boys and girls rec programs). This e-mail list, with over 1,130 names, will give our sponsors opportunities to promote special offers and upcoming events.
GGFC’s Board is comprised of passionate women and men who want to elevate women’s youth soccer in the New York City area and help it grow and develop to its full capacity. The Club will start with six teams in the first year with at least one team in each age bracket (U10, U12, U13, U13B, U14, and U16). Three of these teams have applied for play in the top division of their respective age brackets. That we can field so many competitive teams our inaugural year shows the dedication and enthusiasm there is for the sport and the league here in the Metropolitan area. Additionally, our staff of licensed, top flight coaches will give players the best opportunity to reach their full potential both on and off the field. The Gotham Girls FC will enter and participate in the highest-level leagues, competitions, and tournaments across Region I. The Club will strive for success at the state, regional, and national levels. The intention is to establish GGFC as THE elite girls soccer academy in the Metropolitan area.
GGFC sponsors will benefit from getting in on the ground level of this exciting and first-ever all-girls soccer program in New York City by being linked to this innovative and positive female organization. GGFC sponsors will be in select company when featured on uniforms, at games, on the web, or in print. We welcome in-kind/trade opportunities to defray league expenses and enjoy partnering with small enterprises.
Although each player pays registration fees to participate, those fees do not cover the full cost of playing competitively for the GGFC. Additionally, we are making scholarships available, based on financial need, as we believe that a family’s financial situation should not prevent any girl from being able to participate in a sport that she loves. Gotham Girls FC will depend on the help of sponsors at every level to provide this unique opportunity to young female athletes in New York City.
