This guide was written to outline and explain the pre- and inter-seasonal to-do's of a GGFC manager in the order that they are meant to be completed. Below is a brief outline of the preseason and in-season checklists and duties. Underneath the outline is a more detailed description of the items.

Registering as a Manager
You must register as a manager using the same platform that players are registered, Sports Sign-up. . There are also certification requirements for managers. Newly appointed Team Managers must submit to an on-line background check, and renew your status every two years. The background check link is here.
When completing the background check, always remember to choose Gotham Girls FC - as your club if you are affiliated with a team that currently competes in the a league other than the Westchester Youth Soccer League. Choose WYSL if you are affiliated with a team that competes in the Westchester Youth Soccer League. Newly-appointed team managers of WYSL teams must also take a required two-hour introductory course conducted by the WYSL. Collecting Medical Forms
Every GGFC player must submit the US Club Medical Form to the Team Manager both a printed and electronic copy.
While parents are instructed repeatedly to do so, it is often the manager’s responsibility to remind and collect these. These will be used not only for WYSL league play, but tournaments often require to have these on hand to play. Please double check your roster and ensure you have everyone's medical form. Once collected, they should be filed for emergency use (See Team Binder).

The game schedule for WYSL should be available mid-August. It can be found on the WYSL website or on our calendar page under the “Resources” tab.
All teams playing in WYSL must have copies of their LINEUP SHEET on hand at games. LINEUP SHEETS can be printed from the Team Wall on Sport SignUp.

Things Managers will need to have on hand at games
If your team is the first team scheduled for a game on a given field, you will need to get the corner flags and any other game related equipment from our GGFC bin at Pier 40. Teams playing the last game are responsible for returning the flags and any other equipped used. The combination to the lockers will be given to you at the start of the season. The container must always be locked!

FOR WYSL: Click and scroll to find your game. Click and see TEAM CONTACT INFO. If you have a home game please let the opposing manager/coach know any important information regarding Pier 40. Also, ask that manager what color kit they plan to wear.
At the end of the spring season, GGFC hosts tryouts for every player either returning or new to the club. Returning players are expected to attend. You will receive word from your coach or age group leader about the dates and times of your tryouts and should communicate this to your team in your weekly email. They will also be posted on the GGFC site. Returning players do not need to register or sign up for tryouts. However, if players/parents know that they are NOT planning to return, it is important that this is conveyed to coaches so that they know the number of player spots available for the coming year.
